For the first time, jazzahead! RECONNECT- and international SHOWCASING-artists will be performing on their way to or from jazzahead! as part of the Green Touring Initiative. jazzahead! has thus established its first small, hand-picked Green Touring Network, which makes collaborative booking possible. In future, such processes are to be implemented in a very low-threshold and efficient manner with the help of the new CooProg Music tool, co-developed by jazzahead! and presented for the first time in the conference program. The initiative is still open to promoters to add further performances to these tours. New tours with RECONNECT / SHOWCASING artists can also be initiated. The Green Touring Network only functions with the help of various cooperation partners. The JazzHall Hamburg offers a concert location just a few kilometers away from jazzahead!

The Instituto Cervantes —in its mission to internationalize Spanish music through its 90 centers around the world— is increasing its participation in jazzahead! this year, organizing 7 concerts in 6 cities across 3 countries with 5 artists. Antonio Serrano & Kaele Jiménez will perform at CLUBNIGHT on April 25, and the andalucian Triplanetas will perform on April 26 in Bremen. Extending the Spanish participation in the Reconnect focus, that week the Instituto Cervantes will present Trinidad Jiménez Trío in Berlin; Marco Mezquida in Vienna and Hamburg; Irene Reig Quartet in Brussels; and Antonio Serrano & Kaele Jiménez in Frankfurt.

As a finale station, there will be a closing concert as part of the Green Touring Network at the Mitrovica International Jazz Days.
