“The great thing about Dutch pianist Rembrandt Frerichs,” a reviewer wrote recently, “is that he traverses centuries of music as if it's nothing. He jumps with ease from Brahms to Miles Davis and Jobim, colouring everything in his own, always surprising way. Boundaries blur, jazz becomes 'classical', rhythms come alive. His art, skill, and a substantial dose of inspiration make for a beautiful evening.”
