Improvisation and Jazz for Children — jazzahead!

Jazz and Improvisation for Kids

28 April 2022

The fourth symposium "Improviation and Jazz for Children" will take place on Thursday, 28 April 2022.
The start of this year's conference is the interactive concert "Caribu", to which primary school classes are invited free of charge. Two workshops will then be held by Corinna Danzer (HfMDK Frankfurt) and Dr. Frank Dorn (Musikhochschule Mannheim) and focus practical and scientific-pedagogical aspects. A concluding panel discussion is dedicated to the potential of jazz pedagogy in the context of music in schools.
The conference is aimed at jazz musicians, music educators, music teachers and students. It will be held in German.

To promote jazz youngsters, both as the audience of tomorrow and as artists on stage, „jazz and improvisation for kids“ has played a special role at jazzahead! for a few years now. The event takes place on jazzahead!‘s Thursday, sometimes as a round table, a symposium, a education program or a workshop. In 2019 we presented three showcases especially for children.
