The conference program of
jazzahead! digital 2021 (29 April to 2 May) will
present topics of the jazz industry in about 35 sessions
organized by jazzahead! and its exhibitors. From current
developments, issues and focal points to country and label
portraits, there is something for every participants and
from all sectors. A special focus will be on festival and club promoters and
programmers. Our exhibitors from the individual countries
will show documentations and presentations about the
current scenes in their countries. There will also be a
focus on artist development – and jazzahead!, Initiative
Musik and the German Jazz Union will each present
cutting-edge studies on the German scene in the areas of
clubs, promotion and the living situation of musicians.

For organizers: Online marketing and a look into the
future
|
Organizers, whether festival or club, will receive
important impulses for their work from the jazzahead!
program: Content strategies and social media marketing
for clubs and festivals as well as the challenges in
booking in the coming months will play the main role
in this area. The special “Hybrid Business – How not
to miss the chance to co-create the Next Normal”, in
cooperation with MusicTech Germany, presents the
possibilities of hybrid events of the future with best
practices and knowledge transfer and invites
discussion: What will and should remain from these
digitalization advances, what positive effects will
the industry take away from them?

For musicians: free professional program
|
“What should emerging artists do today” asks the
panel of our media partner Stingray DJAZZ, while
another from the German Jazz Union presents the study
on the impact of the Corona crisis on the situation of jazz musicians. Both sessions will not
only be available to jazzahead! registrants, but will
also be streamed free of charge via the jazzahead!
website and Facebook page. In addition, the
program of Initiative Musik gGmbH will focus on
streaming platforms –

From Canada to Australia, from Cuba to Finland – or
from Latvia to Spain, via Italy, Denmark to Ireland, from
Luxembourg via the Netherlands to Germany or Austria: The
sessions of our exhibitors from the country and export
offices will take the participants on a road trip.
Documentaries, artist-, festival- and club portraits as
well as networking and presentations await you on this
journey through the individual country scenes.

Labels and festivals invite you to discover their program
and our media partners present their platforms, projects
and ideas. In the panel Jazz Festivals Associations
and export projects: the case of Spain and Italy, we will
talk about how jazz festival associations often become
influencers for the music export of a country: The case
of Italy and Spain is a good example and a springboard
for future collaborations.

Jazz and improvisation for children…
|
…has been a companion of jazzahead! for years and is represented in this
year’s program for the first time for all registrants: “Music in Kindergarten
and Elementary School: Jazz up-cyclen”. Mascha Corman’s workshop is about
reformulating, reshaping and implementing the familiar in times of the COVID-19
pandemic. It is aimed primarily at music communicators in the field of jazz and
improvisation.

Conference platform remains open after May 2
|
The live program of jazzahead! digital will take place between April 29 and
May 2 – but even after that, the platform will remain open with many recordings
of the concert and specialist program and, above all, the opportunity to
network. Until July 31, 2021, registered users will then still be able to log in
after the live event, experience content (again) and get in touch with the
industry.
