jazzahead! 2021 without showcase application phase
|
As we will keep the showcase program of the
cancelled 2020 event for our jazzahead! edition in
2021, there will not be a phase this fall where bands
can apply for showcases at the next jazzahead!. Of
course, bands and their representatives can still
participate in jazzahead! 2021 as professional
participants or (co-)exhibitors.
Further information
on registrations can be found here. The line-up of the
2021 showcase concerts is available on our website,
too.

jazzahead! digital events and actions: New jazzahead!
Blog to start on 21 August
|
Doesn’t the time until the next jazzahead! in
April 2021 seem endless? We feel the same way! Which
is why we want to be even more in touch with our
participants, visitors and the jazz scene all year
round. For example with our new jazzahead! Blog:
the
articles, videos and podcasts revolve around people,
topics and regions of the international jazz scene.
For example, Peter Schulze from the artistic direction
speaks with the German musician Pablo Held. And for a
small series one person from the jazz scene in Germany
and one from abroad each reveal their views on German
jazz and their current recommendations for jazz made
in Germany. From 21 August at jazzahead.de.

Virtual Sessions: Online seminars for
registered users to start in September
|
We will start monthly “Virtual Sessions” on specialist
topics specifically for our jazzahead! registered
participants of 2021. In 45 minutes each, experts will
discuss, amongst other interesting topics, best-practice
examples of export strategies or social media for event
organisers. The sessions will start on 28 September: the
expert talk will focus on the Bel Jazz Festival and how
it was possible to successfully organise an online
festival and to earn money with it. This is exactly what
the festival managed to do at the end of May: around
3,000 fans bought tickets for the Bel Jazz broadcast.
You can access the Virtual Sessions with your jazzahead!
registration. More information on how to register
www.jazzahead.de. Participants of jazzahead! 2021 will
receive instructions on how to access the Virtual Session
via e-mail.

|
|
Free of charge and for all jazz
fans: on Thursday, 3 September our monthly live panels
will start on our jazzahead! facebook page. For example,
the 15-minute rounds will focus on preparations for
jazzahead! 2021, but also on general topics such as the
work of the European Jazz Network or the situation and
perspectives of the live sector in times of the Corona
pandemic. SAVE THE DATE: on 3 September we will be
live with jazzahead! project manager Sybille Kornitschky
and the two artistic directors Uli Beckerhoff and Peter
Schulze.

jazzahead! 2021 – Your options for participation
|
For your participation in the largest industry gathering of
the international jazz scene you have the choice
between the following options: 1) As a professional
participant you attend the fair for 1 to 4 days without
booking a stand. 2) As a co-exhibitor you are
registered on a shared umbrella stand, e.g. a country or
label. An overview of shared booths can
be found here.
3) As an exhibitor you book your own stand at the fair.
jazzahead! offers stand options for different budgets and
allows you to optimally present yourself. 4) Media
representatives can request a press accreditation.

German musicians, their agencies or professional
representatives can register at the German Market (booth
number 6C22). The German Market is the meeting point of
the German scene – for club owners, musicians, festival
organisers and others. There are two options for
participation at the German Market: the simple
registration as co-exhibitor or the participation with
renting your own counter, prices from 135 € plus VAT.

you are interested, just contact us in advance.

Our
partner country Canada has accepted our renewed
invitation for 2021! The selection of this year’s
showcase bands will also be maintained. Speaking on
behalf of the Canadian partners, Rochelle Hum of the
Canada Council for the Arts stated: “In the months
ahead, we believe that music—and the arts more
broadly—will have an integral role to play in our
shared healing. Our ongoing collaboration with
jazzahead! marks an important example of how countries
can come together in these challenging times to foster
collective well-being.”
Canada is the 10th partner country of jazzahead! – and
also the first from overseas. You can look forward to
jazz and culture from the partner country at the trade
fair and festival.
