Professional program I: jazzahead! panels
|
Organizers and their concerns are one
focus of our professional program: online
marketing, streaming income and the development of a
playbook for hybrid concerts and industry events
during and after the Corona period will be part of the
offerings.
We will also focus on the topic of music
export: especially regional initiatives and
festival associations have taken over national export
roles in Southern Europe in recent years. Using Italy
and Spain as examples, we will shed light on this
topic. The full programm will soon be available on
our website.

Professional program II: Sessions of our exhibitors
|
Our exhibitors will present their work during
their own sessions in the jazzahead! program,
among others these will be from national and regional
scenes, e.g. from Latvia, Denmark, Catalonia and Canada,
Cuba and others. The German Jazz Union will present
results of a study on the impact of the Corona pandemic
on the professional and personal lives of jazz musicians.
The panel of the Initiative Musik will deal with a club
study and the peculiarities of the German venue culture.
The entire program will soon be available at
www.jazzahead.de.

jazzahead! X International Jazz Day
|
Two greats of global jazz, the UNESCO-proclaimed International Jazz
Day and the international jazz trade fair jazzahead! are starting a cooperation.
With this, we want to join forces and send a positive signal together in these
difficult times: in normal times, jazzahead! has an annually changing partner
country. With International Jazz Day, the whole world is now our partner.
jazzahead! will bring artistic content into the program of the UNESCO action
day, so events with various acts will complement each other and celebrate jazz
together.
More information will be available soon on our
website.

Podcast #3: The Age of DIY: Musicians led labels
|
Musician-led labels are not a new thing – but in
the last decades more and more active musicians have
started their own labels. In the third
jazzahead! podcast, Uli Beckerhoff talks to three
musicians who have founded their own labels:
Robert Landfermann from the Cologne-based label KLAENG
records (Germany), Tobias Meier from Wide Ear Records
(Zurich, Switzerland) and with Heinrich von Kalnein,
founder of Natango Music from Graz (Austria).
Expect individual stories and personal insights into
the lives and work of these musicians and their
labels.
