When Grammy-winning Andalusian saxophonist, singer and songwriter Antonio Lizana became one of the first Spanish artists to perform a Tiny Desk concert, NPR described the magic of his jazz-flamenco fusion as two musical worlds coiling together “like helical strands of sonic DNA.” Lizana is one of the most celebrated representatives of new Flamenco Jazz and has collaborated very successfully with pianists Arturo O’Farrill and Chano Dominguez, singer-guitarist Alejandro Sanz, bass guitar master Marcus Miller, and Snarky Puppy. Lizana’s live show is described as a “breath-taking journey from flamenco roots to contemporary jazz” and “his soulful lyrics bring messages of optimism and truth.”Antonio Lizana (lead voc, sax), Daniel Garcia Diego (p, back voc), Arin Keshishi (el-b, back voc), Shayan Fathi (dr), El Mawi (flamenco dancing, back voc)
