Pianist Clara Haberkamp developed her profile as singer/pianist/ lyricist but her most recent album, “Reframing the Moon” (Malletmuse) is her first to focus purely on her instrumental talent. “From the first note, one listens spellbound” (Kulturtipp). The miraculous paradox is that the change of direction has given her new means of expression, not least because of her quick ear and her near-magical gift for melody. She also has an astonishing awareness of contrast. Sophisticated and dense moments are always counterbalanced by heart-melting moments of direct emotional contact with her listeners. As Jazzthing has said, she is “Defiant. Sensitive. Lively. Unconventional. Authentic. Brave. Clever.”Clara Haberkamp (p), James Banner (b), Lukas Akintaya (dr)
