Daniel García’s second album for ACT, “Vía de la Plata” (2021) has brought out the superlatives from critics worldwide: NDR Kultur wrote about how his trio’s playing “shimmers, shines and glitters, assuring the most pleasurable listening from the first note to the last.” For more than a decade, García has set himself the goal of “bringing original Spanish music into a new context […] and making all stylistic dividing lines invisible.” His profound knowledge of the history of Spanish music – flamenco but other parallel local traditions as well – and of jazz and classical music ensure that he can draw at any moment from many wells of inspiration and find fascinating and lively connecting threads between them.Daniel García (p), Reinier Elizarde (db), Michael Olivera (dr)
