Dominique Fils-Aimé, singer-songwriter from Montreal and of Haitian descent, puts the history of African-American musical culture into the heart of her work, notably in a trilogy of albums: “Nameless” (2018) explores blues, “Stay Tuned” (2019) concentrates on jazz – it won the 2020 JUNO for vocal jazz – and “Three Little Words” (2020) is inspired by soul icons. “Three Little Words” was shortlisted for the Polaris Music Prize and hit #2 in the Canadian charts. In 2022, she presented her show in front of a sold out Théâtre Maisonneuve during the Montreal Jazz Festival and performed on double bills in France, with Diana Krall at Marciac and with Melody Gardot at Vannes.
