Wolfgang Lackerschmid, whose vibraphone playing is equally fascinating in its highly emotional and technically adept way, has found an ideal duo partner in the singer Stefanie Schlesinger (“pleasantly timbred voice”, “expressive jazz feeling”).The repertoire of the two has constantly developed over the many years of their concerts through common preferences and projects, so that not only the selection of the music, but also the stories behind it make their duo concerts something very special. Own compositions, songs from the “”American Songbook””, film songs or jazzy interpretations of classical arias are on the program.WOLFGANG LACKERSCHMID (vibraphone) is equally successful as a vibraphonist, bandleader and composer. With her own sound, the native of Bamberg combines fresh standard interpretations and jazz variants of classical arias with modern repertoire, including poetry settings. Many of her pieces are from her own pen or from the extensive song oeuvre of her partner Wolfgang Lackerschmid. With him she also developed the stage form of the musiclet, in which the two combine the possibilities of (musical) theater and jazz.
