“A Tree House means adventure,” says Amsterdam-based German drummer Felix Schlarmann. “Security, memories of carefree childhood days. The detached location invites you to play and experiment, but climbing it is a challenge.” Schlarmann had been weighing up the idea of a new band before the invitation from jazzahead!, and has formed a new seven-piece group of players from different generations and stylistic orientations, reflecting the excitement and variety of the Dutch scene. For audiences there will be well-known players like Ben van Gelder or Pat Cleaver from Tin Men & The Telephone, but also discoveries: Latvian-born vocalist Līva Dumpe and the youngest member, guitarist Olivier van Niekerk (b. 2002).
