In his 1987 documentary, Robert Daudelin accompanies alto saxophonist Lee Konitz at various concerts and a workshop at Concordia University in Montreal. Also included is pianist Harold Danko, with whom Konitz had been playing for 12 years at this point. All pieces are shown in full length, creating a cross-section of the jazz virtuoso’s repertoire. In addition, Konitz provides insights into private matters in conversations that are deepened by comments from Danko. One thing, however, is clearly in the foreground in Daudelin’s film: the music. We acknowledge the support of the Canada Council for the ArtsIntroduction: Eckhard Petri, JazzmusikerDirecting: Robert DaudelinCDN 1987, 80 Min., OmUTickets At the box office: The box office opens half an hour before the first screening, or +49 (0)421 / 957 9920 (voice box, only possible until the day before)Tickets: EUR 9 / reduced EUR 5.50
