“An exciting debut and a commitment to break new ground,” was Jazzthing’s verdict on “Bewegtes Feld,” the 2021 album from pianist Vincent Meissner’s trio with bassist Josef Zeimetz and drummer Henri Reichmann. The album was released by ACT in their Young German Jazz series. Born in Saxony in 2000, Meissner now lives in Leipzig, where he is mentored by Michael Wollny. Wollny produced “Bewegtes Feld” and describes Meissner as: “a really highly talented young pianist and composer with his own genuine working band.” Among the many awards Meissner has already received are the Young Munich Jazz Prize, Freiburg’s International Jazzhaus Piano Competition and Berlin’s Bechstein Piano Competition.Vincent Meissner (p), Josef Zeimetz (b), Henri Reichmann (dr)
