Yael Acher a.k.a KAT-Modiano (solo flute + visuals) is an award-winning flutist and composer. Born and raised in Israel, she began classical flute training at the age of nine. She later studied in Copenhagen, Denmark & Israel and received a Bachelor of Music with Excellence in Classical Flute Performing Arts from the Rubin Academy in Jerusalem. Here she continued to study music composition and attended jazz courses. She then moved to Denmark again and lived in Copenhagen for 10 years. She won a US-Danish Fulbright Scholarship and moved to New York in 2005. She completed her advanced studies at New York University with a Master of Arts in 2018.
KAT Modiano’s work includes acoustic and electroacoustic music in the styles of contemporary improvisation, progressive jazz, tango, and live soundtracks to silent films, as well as music for dance theater choreography. She also delighted audiences at jazz clubs such as the Blue Note and Dizzy’s Club Coca Cola. Modiano’s previous album releases dealt with the world’s oceans, creating flute soundtracks that related humanity to the oceans.She has 2 new album releases coming up in 2022. Tickets can be purchased for the events and concerts of the festival – including the showcases.
There are no individual tickets for the opening ceremony on Thursday, 27 April at 1 p.m. The event is open to registered trade visitors and holders of a regular festival ticket.
