Tunis-born, Brussels-based pianist/composer Wajdi Riahi, artist in residence at the 2026 Brussels Jazz Festival in Flagey, blends jazz with Arabic and North African roots. His playing, both sensitive and rhythmically intense, combines melodic depth with improvisational freedom. Now firmly established on the European jazz scene, he is recognized for his ability to combine virtuosity with raw emotion. His trio with Basile Rahola - bass and Pierre Hurty - drums is known for their finesse and energy. Having played nearly 100 concerts together, they have found a rare balance: constant mutual listening, deep friendship, and musical complicity that give their music a unique intensity.
