CLUBNIGHT (April 24–25): the whole of Bremen becomes your favorite live music venue

From clubs floating up and down the river to intimate theatres, from up-close chamber music to sizzling late-night funk jams: jazzahead! CLUBNIGHT has been a byword for unique live music of every kind since 2011. To celebrate its 20th anniversary, jazzahead! is treating everyone to a birthday present: two whole days of CLUBNIGHT for the price of just 40 euros (24 and 25 April).

An unprecedented number of concerts: 120. On Friday, April 24, 10 gigs in Bremen-Nord, 93 in Bremen, and – for the first time – 17 concerts in Bremerhaven on Saturday evening, April 25. On both days, the program begins at 5:30 p.m each evening in the city center. The late-night jam sessions will ensure that the party keeps going well into the night.

In the same way that the jazzahead! trade fair takes on a global reach, CLUBNIGHT is also becoming increasingly international: in 2026, two-thirds of the artists will come from abroad. The label and country evenings on Friday alone will bring dozens of bands from all over the world to Bremen.

One highlight will be the Luxembourg Night at the Tor 40 venue, just a 20-minute walk from the Messe. Starting at 8 p.m., three bands will be performing here, including Arthur Possing, one of the most exciting pianists under the age of 30. His quartet – featuring Madagascan guitarist Joel Rabesolo—plays irresistible modern jazz.

Things will also get groovy in Überseestadt (New Harbour District). At the African Night at Fiete’s Hafenbar, bands from Togo, Senegal, and Chad will perform – including the highly anticipated appearance of Togolese drum hero Kossi Mawun.

At the Signum Open Space cultural center near the Weser River, an extended Canada Night will take place, featuring four bands, playing two sets each. The best-known act here is trumpeter Rémi Cormier from Montréal, whose quartet is known for laid-back hip-hop jazz and electronic sounds, recalling greats like Robert Glasper.

At the Helga pub in Walle, the Chile Night begins as early as 6:30 p.m. It features, among others, singer Camila Bañados, whose very personal sound is on the borders of indie, electronica, and global pop.

In Bremen-Nord, partner country Sweden is particularly well represented at jazzahead! The best way to head north is on the Weser, departing from the Martinianleger pier in the city centre – on the boat, prize-winning vocalist Sara Aldén will be performing her mix of Swedish folklore and pop.

Always a popular event is the British Clubnight at the Bremer Shakespeare Company. Here you can hear the hottest underground jazz from the UK, including Azamiah from Glasgow, captivating audiences with their laid-back R&B and dubby basslines.

For the first time, on Saturday 25 April, the bars, museums, and clubs of Seestadt Bremerhaven – just a 35-minute train ride away – will be part of the event (included in the ticket). Saturday night wraps up here at the New York Bar in the Liberty Hotel with a Late Night Jam Session.

Additional nightly jam sessions on Friday are spread across the Viertel, Zentrum, and Neustadt districts, including the Berthold Records Night at Villa Sponte, led by Danish bassist Kenneth Dahl Knudsen.

The BIKE It! Stage once again offers a free admission live experience, stopping off at various open-air locations throughout the city starting at 5:30 PM. Rental bikes are available from right outside the Messe building.
The “Rausgegangen” app helps to plan the evening. In the CLUBNIGHT Special, which goes live in mid-April, a traffic light system will flag up venues which still have space available on the night.

The CLUBNIGHT Double: 120 concerts, 45 clubs, two evenings—featuring music ranging from jazz, rock, and electronica to soul and more.

Tickets for the CLUBNIGHT Double, the Grand Opening of jazzahead!, and the international showcase concerts are available at a discounted price during the pre-festival sales period. The showcase festival days can also be booked individually.
For the statewide CLUBNIGHT: one ticket (€40 / €20 reduced). The ticket price includes bus and train travel in Bremen.

Online advance registration for the trade fair is still open until 21 April. On-site registration on the day will incur additional fees.
