jazzahead! is a trade fair, conference and showcase festival - with contemporary, high-profile jazz from Germany and Europe and from overseas.
From April 27th to 30th, the jazz world will come together to network, exchange ideas, attend conferences and panels, and experience 40 showcase concerts in the official program during four days at jazzahead!
In 2022, we carried out our first hybrid edition after our digital version. Around 2,700 professional participants from 55 nations were
registered, coming from various fields of business activities like:
artists, bookers, labels, agencies, publishers, festivals and
clubs, distributors, production companies, lobby institutions,
associations, press and more.

With your own stand at the fair, you have the maximum trade fair visibility. From miniature booths with 4sqm to larger individual solutions: We offer stands and stand equipment for your needs and budget, so that you can present yourself optimally.

As a professional participant, you can take part in the fair for one to all days without booking a stand.
Media representatives can sign up for press accreditation. More information and our accreditation guidelines can be found here.
Registration opens 27 September 2022 and will be possible online until 13 April 2023. After that registration is only possible on site as a professional participant and as a co-exhibitor and will be charged additionally with 20 € plus 19% VAT. Registration as an exhibitor is no longer possible on site.

As a registered participant for jazzahead! 2023 you have the opportunity to view the contact details of the participants who have agreed to the publication of their data via the Participant Portal.
We warn against scam and phishing emails
Our participants have repeatedly been contacted via mail by a company claiming to be selling the jazzahead! 2023 visitors/attendees list. Please do not answer their request! We would like to point out that we are in no way affiliated with this. The brand name “jazzahead!” was used without our knowledge or consent for these mailings.
In case you receive mails in that manner, we advise you to disregard and discard it.
As a jazzahead! attendee with a registration valid for the current year, you will always have access to the detailed attendee list via our participants portal.

Conference program at jazzahead!
The conference part of jazzahead! 2022 consisted of the professional program curated by jazzahead! and the sessions of our exhibitors with Plus Package. Future-oriented topics and current discussions, especially for organizers and musicians, will again be the main focus. In addition, the topic of sustainable business solutions played a central role in a market that has changed significantly, not least due to Corona.

Jazz made in Germany
The German Jazz Expo also includes other program content related to the German jazz scene - e.g. certain panels on topics that are of interest, especially for the German participants, or the biennial prize for German Jazz Journalism.

The German Market is the meeting point of the German scene - for club owners, musicians, festival makers and others. It is place to establish and encourage the general promotion of German jazz exports or individual concerns, such as the networking of federal and state activities.

Especially for the members of the German Jazz Union (Deutsche Jazz Union) jazzahead! offers registrations at a special discount: 85€ plus VAT for a four-day registration for jazzahead! 2023. In addition, Deutsche Jazz Union participants with a one-day registration for the fair on Friday and Saturday can submit applications for a showcase at the German Jazz Expo.
Since 2012 jazzahead! award the "Prize for German jazz journalism". It is funded by Dr. E.A. Langner Foundation and endowed with 5,000 €. This prize is part of the German Jazz Expo and is intended to promote qualified reporting on jazz in the German media.

Invitation program for international organizers
As part of the German Jazz Expo, the export platform for Jazz made in Germany at jazzahead!, we are again inviting international organizers and program makers to Bremen in 2023. Participants from this sector of the industry receive preferential conditions for participation and, depending on their origin, also a travel allowance. If you are particularly interested in the German jazz scene or would like to recommend someone, who should be part of this program, please write us an email to Nina Thomann.
Professional program "Improvisation & Jazz for children of primary school age"
For our program we are currently still looking for:
- interactive children's concert formats for presentation in a 30-minute showcase concert for students and professional audiences
- workshop formats
- Scientific contributions
Submissions please in the form of a project outline of the concert format or an abstract of the presentation / workshop until January 11th 2023 via mail to fraisse@jazzahead.de.
Criteria for the selection of the showcase format
Who is the target audience of the showcase format? - Definition of the target groups!
The concert format must be aimed at an elementary school age audience. We are looking for formats that take place or have taken place in school and in other contexts.
What is the focus? - Improvisation as the core element!
Improvisation is in the foreground. Projects are welcome to include other skills and creative fields (such as the movement component). There is no requirement for instrumentation.
How should the access be? - Low-threshold!
We are looking for offers that do not require any previous musical training and are as linguistically barrier-free as possible.
What else is important? - Interaction
We are not looking for frontal concert experiences from the stage down for children, but for interactive concert formats for children.
