German Jazz Expo
Since 2012, all measures to improve the networking of the German jazz scene in Germany and beyond have been taken under the label German Jazz Expo. In addition to the eight showcase concerts, this includes a central trade fair presence, the German Market.
Better Live
The Creative Europe Programme-funded project Better Live (2023–2026) brings together eleven European partners from the jazz and live music sector to develop more sustainable and climate-friendly touring models.
The project is based on the understanding that the mobility of artists and audiences represents the largest source of greenhouse gas emissions in the cultural sector, while international touring remains essential for artistic exchange across Europe.
Better Live therefore aims to maintain and strengthen the circulation of artists while reducing the environmental impact of concerts and tours.
Over four years, the project develops data analysis tools, provide training for cultural professionals, and test sustainable concert formats and low-carbon touring models in practice. Building on the previous “Footprints” project, Better Live focuses on European cooperation, knowledge sharing, and the creation of a fair, inclusive, and long-term sustainable network within the live music sector.
